September Update

As most of you will know by now September has been full of surprises and shocks that we are all very glad to be coming out the other side of!

After our week off, we suffered flood damage due to blocked drains when the rain started on the 20th September. We had some amazing volunteers that stepped in to help us all day and late into the night bringing sandbags, protecting our stock and getting rid of the water.

It took 4 days but we eventually got the drains fixed, water cleaned out and all our electrical’s back into place. Not only did we lose some of our precious stock  of nappies, wet wipes and toiletries donated by all our wonderful supporters but we have had to take up the flooring to clean up and make sure nothing was damaged underneath it.

To keep everyone updated: We have now started to get back to normal, things are starting to smell nicer and have dried out! We are still collecting  up to Christmas but won’t be accepting anymore clothing donations as of now.

We had a visit from Granada ITV reports on Wednesday publicising the damage and shout out for help to get more lino put down. You can watch us here! After some amazing offers we have now new lino helped out by some of wonderful supporters.

As if that wasn’t busy enough for one month, we then had an amazing chat with Sister Talk Radio show if you haven’t already had a listen please click the link to here our Christmas plea.

That’s it for September- to keep you updated and aware of how much we value every single one of our supporters commitment and dedication to helping us we have had 246 visits this year so far. None of that we could have achieved without your help!
Our October collection is for any new womens pyjamas and dressing gowns. We will post a further update later on in the month. Visit our Facebook page for any questions!
